Carver Dine' Skate Garden C7 Surfskate Complete

The Diné Skate Garden is a true labor of love, built by the close-knit community of Toadlena,also known as "Tóhaaliní," meaning "Where the Water Flows Out", in the Two Grey Hills chapter of the Navajo Nation. In this remote area, outdoor recreational facilities are few and far between, but the community’s resilient DIY spirit has turned dreams into reality.

This inspiring project was sparked through a connection with Diné artist and surfskater Di’orr Greenwood, the champion of the Swirl Surfskate Fest 2022. As conversations evolved, a natural partnership was born. With Di’orr leading the charge on the artwork, the result is a visually stunning Navajo-inspired graphic that honors her heritage while promoting skateboarding among indigenous youth. This collaboration aims to empower the next generation through the transformative spirit of skateboarding, making the sport more accessible to those in underserved areas.
